  1. http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/03- ... sault.html Seen these TIR videos yet?
  2. Made another while doing some landings: http://www.meowworld.com/meow-ftp/Smooth/FSX_DHC2_2.wmv
  3. S! Thanks, just a few clips I ran together to show off what's new. I might put some more together.
  4. I don't need to blow stuff up in a sim for it to be enjoyable. Don't mean to sound insulting, but most people who offer the "but I can't blow stuff up?" arguement, have never even tried the sim. One of the big appeals MSFS has going for it is that it takes place in the real world. If I were to go on a flight, I could drive home and set up the same flight with the same weather, same approaches, same load, same time of day, same airports, same routes, etc. This new one will offer the G1000 setup in the deluxe version. Several of the aircraft at my school have this configuration, so I'm anxious to see the comparisons. Like Sensi said, you want to dogfight and blow stuff up, get a combat sim. You want to operate an aircraft the same way you would if you were really there, this sim will do it for you or at least come pretty close.
  5. Made a short movie here: http://www.meowworld.com/meow-ftp/Smooth/FSX_DHC2.wmv
  6. I installed it this morning. It's cool, but basically FS2004 with some new game modes and scenery tweaks. NP doesn't have their software updated for TIR to work with it yet. The first thing I noticed is the piston engine props sound alot better. Saw a few animals too. Flock of birds crossing a runway while I was on final!
  7. I'm very interested to see how it will perform in a FPS. I saw that OFP AA video and it looked kind of neat, perfect for a slower paced game like OFP. Also LOMAC Black Shark will implement 6DOF, out this fall hopefully.
  8. As far as I can tell, the 4 just has a wider field of view, and comes with vector in the same purchase. 3 Pro + Vec user here. I don't know if I would justify an upgrade from a 3 to a 4, but I'd look at it for a new user.
  9. I use an Audigy 2 ZS, paid 70 bucks for it OEM. Concerning the bass issue: Go to control panel. Click sounds, speech, and audio devices. Click sounds and audio devices. Under the header "device volume" click advanced. Look for the header "play control" and click advanced. Make sure it's not cranked up in there.
  10. It's funny you mentioned this Cephas. I just bought this monitor Wed. and it came Fri. I upgraded from a 15'' Dell CRT with a 13.5'' screen, big change I know. The monitor is excellent, it's huge, bright, and has no ghosting at all in any of the games I've played thus far on it. The 2ms rate is measured in gray to gray performance, not black to white which most manufacturers use. The "actual" rate is 6ms.
  11. I just found out about this. As many of you know, Kat was the founder of our squad, MEOW. I have made a post in the private section of our forum with a link to this topic. On behalf of our squad, please accept our condolances. We will miss you greatly Kat.
  12. Looks like they sharpened up the textures, smoothed out the radio comms, and character animations. But I still notice the clipping issues and lousy physics. I like OFP alot, hopefully they will work this stuff out by OFP2.
  13. Yep, I'm going to be there. My flight school will probably have one of our new aircraft on display, with the G1000 setup, they have the past 2 years.
  14. I found this statistic for the period of 1995-2004, based on NTSB fatal accident statistics: Fatalities per Odds of being killed million trips on a single trip Airliner (Part 121) 0.019 52.6 million to 1 Automobile 0.130 7.6 million to 1 I don't know why it's running it all together like that, but you can make it out.
