About RAF74_Buzzsaw

  1. Salute All Just to let people know: RAF74 will be switching their midweek practice to Wednesday nights from Tuesdays. We will continue to fly on Friday nights as well. Cheers RAF74_Buzzsaw
  2. Muhahahahaha..... /applications/core/interface/imageproxy/imageproxy.php?img=%7BSMILIES_PATH%7D/icon_twisted.gif&key=76870aa9df6931b692ccc9ef4c7472a7834d1d9dfc6a76eccadd1fa39c0df891"> The special RAF74 "Bratwurst" virus is working well I see... Until the WW's give up their sausage eating habits, they are doomed... 8)
  3. Salute Plague I'm a little confused... :-k I scored for you, 1 AAA and 9 Fuel over your three missions, the same as the figures you mention. I break the scoring down over the three missions, so there are three separate entries for you, one for each of the three missions. Scroll down the report and you'll see that. In the first mission, you scored one AAA for 30 points, in the second, you were taken out by a collision, so didn't have the opportunity, and in the third, you took out 9 fuel for 270 pts. If you are still unsure of the results, I can go over the detailed mission log, but that will take a very long time. Cheers RAF74_Buzzsaw
  4. Salute Pierre You didn't hit any ground targets that mission. Your percentage hits are in the MLR I think.
  5. Salute Congratulations to the Home team for their excellent play. Looking forward to getting back on top in the reversal. :D Cheers Buzzsaw
  6. Salute All A bit of a surprise.... ;) Despite being considerably outnumbered, Home team came back after a rocky start, and took it to the Blue side. Congratulations especially to the B-25 pilots who displayed their bombing skills. /applications/core/interface/imageproxy/imageproxy.php?img=%7BSMILIES_PATH%7D/icon_clap.gif&key=b3c3b69dc821e094f8e6a428b61d77ca8c19db84efe7e1e7ef7215326ff9b4bd"> <<<< Scoring for Round 1 of PLOESTI 1944 Red side Mission 1 WW Tharn B-25 Ground targets: 2 AAA, 27 Fuel, total 29 X 30 pts: 870 pts WW Plague B-25 Ground targets: 1 AAA. 1 X 30pts: 30 pts WW Pierre B-25 Enemy Aircraft: 109G2, pilot killed: 200 pts WW Happy B-25 Enemy Aircraft: 110G2, pilot killed: 250 pts WW Wringer B-25 No scoring WW 8Ball B-25 Enemy Aircraft: 190F8, pilot killed: 200 pts WW Bard P-38 No scoring WW Chunk P-38 No scoring WW Dubya P-38 No scoring Crashed, killed: -200 pts WW Gangster P-38 No Scoring WW Sandman P-51 No Scoring JZG Eiswolf P-51 No scoring Total score for Red Mission 1: 1350 pts Blue Side Mission 1 AH Gonzo 109G2 Enemy Aircraft: P-51B, pilot captured, P-38J, pilot killed. 400 pts AH Duff4r 109G2 Enemy Aircraft: B-25, pilot captured. 350 pts AH Taldrg 109G6 No Scoring AH Foxbat 109G6 No Scoring AH Stiffy 110G2 No Scoring AH BBQHead 110G2 No Scoring AH Jack IAR-81C No Scoring Crashed/Killed: -150 pts AH Viper 109G2 No Scoring AH Spardog 109G2 No Scoring RAF74 Drummer 109G6 Enemy Aircraft: B-25, pilot killed. 350 pts RAF74 Vostok 110G2 Enemy Aircraft: B-25, pilot killed, B-25, pilot captured. 700 pts RAF74 SnakeEyes 190F8 Enemy Aircraft: P-38, pilot captured, B-25, pilot killed. 550 pts RAF74 Buzzsaw 190F8 No Scoring RAF74 Taipan 110G2 No Scoring RAF74 Raptor 190F8 No Scoring Crashed, ejected success: -100 pts AB Moby IAR-81C No Scoring AB CCRider IAR-81C No Scoring Total Scoring for Blue, Mission 1: 2100 pts Mission 2 Red side WW Tharn B-25 Enemy Aircraft: IAR-81C, pilot killed: 150 pts Ground units: 13 Fuel. 13 X 30: 390 pts WW Plague B-25 No Scoring Collision, killed: -350 pts WW Pierre B-25 Enemy Aircraft: 109G6, pilot ejected: 100 pts Ground Units: 1 AAA, 3 Fuel. 4 X 30: 120 pts WW Happy P-51B No Scoring Crashed/alive: -100 pts WW Wringer B-25 Enemy Aircraft: IAR-81C, pilot ejected: 50 pts Ground units: 3 AAA, 25 fuel. 28 X 30: 840 pts WW 8Ball No Scoring Collision/killed: -200 pts WW Bard P-38 Ground units: 1 AAA, 4 Fuel. 5 X 30: 150 pts Shot down by AAA, captured: -200 pts WW Chunk P-38 Ground units: 1 AAA, 6 Fuel. 7 X 30: 210 pts WW Dubya No Scoring WW Gangster Ground units: 1 AAA, 4 Fuel. 5 X 30: 150 pts JZG Eiswolf P-51B No Scoring Total for Red, Mission 2: 1160 pts Mission 2 Blue Side AH Gonzo 109G2 No Scoring AH Duff4r 109G2 No Scoring AH Taldrg 109G6 No Scoring AH Foxbat 109G6 No Scoring AH Stiffy 110G2 No Scoring AH BBQHead 110G2 No Scoring AH Jack IAR-81C No Scoring AH Viper 109G2 No Scoring AH Spardog 109G2 No Scoring RAF74 Drummer 109G6 Crashed/killed: -200 pts RAF74 Vostok 110G2 No Scoring RAF74 SnakeEyes 190F8 Enemy Aircraft: P-51B, pilot captured, B-25, pilot captured: 550 pts RAF74 Buzzsaw 190F8 No Scoring RAF74 Taipan 110G2 No Scoring RAF74 Raptor 190F8 No Scoring AB Moby IAR-81C No Scoring AB CCRider IAR-81C No Scoring Total scoring for Blue Mission 2: 350 pts Red side, Mission 3 WW Tharn B-25 Ground Units: 2 AAA, 1 Fuel. 3 X 30: 90 pts WW Plague B-25 Ground Units: 9 Fuel. 9 X 30: 270 pts WW Pierre B-25 Enemy Aircraft: 109G2, pilot killed, 109G2 pilot killed, 109G2, pilot ejected: 500 pts WW Happy P-51B Enemy Aircraft: 110G2, pilot ejected: 150 pts WW Wringer B-25 Ground units: 8 fuel. 8 X 30: 240 pts WW 8Ball P-51 No Scoring WW Bard P-38 No Scoring Crashed/Killed: -200 pts WW Dubya P-38 Ground Units: 1 AAA, 9 Fuel. 10 X 30: 300 pts WW Gangster P-38 Ground units: 1 AAA. 1 X 30: 30 pts JZG Eiswolf P-51B Enemy Aircraft: 110G2, pilot killed: 250 pts Total points for Red, Mission 3: 1630 pts Mission 3 Blue Side AH Gonzo 109G2 No Scoring AH Duff4r 109G2 No Scoring AH Taldrg 109G6 No Scoring AH Foxbat 109G6 No Scoring AH Stiffy 110G2 Enemy Aircraft: B-25, Pilot killed: 350 pts AH BBQHead 110G2 No Scoring AH Jack IAR-81C No Scoring AH Viper 109G2 No Scoring AH Spardog 109G2 No Scoring RAF74 Vostok 110G2 Enemy Aircraft: B-25, pilot captured: 350 pts RAF74 SnakeEyes 190F8 Enemy Aircraft: P-51, pilot killed, P-51, pilot captured: 400 pts RAF74 Buzzsaw 190F8 Enemy Aircraft: P-51, pilot killed: 200 pts Crashed/ejected: -100 pts RAF74 Taipan 110G2 No Scoring AB Moby IAR-81C No Scoring AB CCRider IAR-81C No Scoring Total scoring for Blue, Mission 3: 1200 pts Total points for 3 Missions for Home (Red) and Away (Blue) Teams: Home: 4140 Away: 3650 /applications/core/interface/imageproxy/imageproxy.php?img=%7BSMILIES_PATH%7D/icon_clap.gif&key=b3c3b69dc821e094f8e6a428b61d77ca8c19db84efe7e1e7ef7215326ff9b4bd">
  7. Salute Ok, I've got what I wanted. Although it ends before everyone landed. But I know what the results were for the two who hadn't landed. Cheers RAF74_Buzzsaw
  8. Salute Ok, what I am actually looking for is the detailed breakdown which includes each pilots sorties, and what they did in those sorties. That was posted previously for other scenarios. I thought it was called Sturmolog, my mistake. Thanks RAF74_Buzzsaw
  9. Salute All I had sent a set of mission files to Bard which were not correct. Previously I had been making up some COOP missions from the dogfight file, and saved them. Those COOP files had the home bases deleted, but otherwise were the same. I thought I had left the original mission file with the home bases, but it seems I saved it without. Took a long time to get things straightened out. I thank Bard for his patience, and everyone else for waiting out my error. Apologies again, RAF74_Buzzsaw
  10. Salute Wondering if someone could post the password for the server and the address and password for Tm Speak? Thanks RAF74_Buzzsaw
  11. Salute Moby I am not the side C/O, Drummer is. However... As far as I know, the IAR81C's are to stay with, and act as an escort for the 110G2's. Both take off from the same field. They should take on fighters if they are encountered, leaving the 110's to go after the bombers. If no fighters are encountered, then the IAR's are to focus on distracting the bomber gunners allowing the 110's to make good killing runs on the bombers. The IAR's can outturn the P-38's quite easily at any speed. They outturn the P-51's at low speeds, but not at high. They maneuver best in the horizontal, not so good vertically. Cheers Buzzsaw
  12. Salute All Following rules changes are in effect: If the Blue side has less than 10 pilots flying, flights may be as small as 1 aircraft per flight. All types of aircraft must still be flown. If the Red side has less than 12 pilots flying, then Flights may be as small as 2 aircraft per flight for all types, including B-25's. At least two B-25 flights, and one flight each of P-38 and P-51 must still be flown. Thanks for your patience RAF74_Buzzsaw
  13. Salute All From my perspective, the key to killing bombers quickly and efficiently is teamwork. A lone fighter is very often going to have a very difficult time versus 1 bomber. On the other hand, two fighters, working as a team can take down a formation of 3 enemy bombers relatively quickly. The key is using one fighter to draw the fire of the bomber's AI gunners. Normally this means the faster fighter will go in first. Ie. if you have a mismatched pair of say a 110G2 and a 109G6, the G6 makes the diversionary pass. If both fighters have similar speeds, the less heavily armed fighter takes the initial run. This fighter makes a pass through the enemy formation at an angle which forces the enemy gunners to fire at maximum deflection. He is NOT trying to get a shot at the enemy bomber, not trying to get any kind of gun solution. He should not approach any closer than 200 meters. The first fighter should watch to see that the enemy gunners are firing at him, stay close enough that they continue to do so, and cue his team-mate that he is clear to make his attack. About 5-10 seconds behind the first fighter, the second follows. This fighter makes the kill. He should take a direct path at the closest enemy bomber with the intent of closing rapidly and making a killing pass at very close range. If the enemy gunners are all AI, they will be firing at the first fighter, and the second will be able to close without taking any fire, and get a good shot. There is only one possible downside to this form of attack, and that is if the enemy bomber pilot has leveled his bomber in flight, and taken the rear gunner position. If this is the case, then the second fighter may be the target of this gunner's fire. (although I find the human gunner is often fooled by the diversionary pass too) A clue to indicate to the second fighter that the enemy pilot is in the rear gunner position is that the target bomber is flying straight and level. If the enemy bomber is maneuvering, normally you can be sure that the pilot is in the cockpit. If the enemy bomber is flying straight and level, a slightly off angle attack is better, say from 5 or 7 o'clock, to impose some deflection on the rear gunner's fire. Or alternately, make your run at another enemy bomber in the formation which is maneuvering. Even if the enemy pilot is in the rear gunner's position, the diversionary Team tactic is the best way to attack, since the other AI gunner positions will be firing at the diversionary aircraft. I would reccommend having mixed teams of 110G2's and other planes, to allow for this type of attack. The 110G2's with under nose 20mm gunpods only require one clear pass at a bomber to destroy it or damage it to the point of no return. Cheers RAF74 Buzzsaw
  14. Salute PLOESTI 1944 is on the "RAF74coopser" as a backup. The server is not called PLOESTI on Hyperlobby. I know that is confusing, but the server is normally used for our SCORCHED EARTH coop missions. Cheers Buzzsaw
  15. Salute All Here is a simple Battle map showing the locations of the airfields and refineries. Click on the image for full size. Cheers RAF74 Buzzsaw
