  1. This weeks mission Sortie 1 will require us to split off and fly in wingman pairs to cover a large map....good opportunity for practice!
  2. also copy that on the time of day. I will make sure the sun is up for the next one
  3. The practice mission we stole was a blast for kicking around and working on team skills. Hope to explore the map a little further to make sure I understand what is there, but would be interested in any changes people would like to see. For me I would like to see bombing targets added so could practice chasing convoys, trains, aaa bridges etc Maybe a parachute drop too....let me know what you think.
  4. BOS Standard or Premium BOM Standard or Premium BOK Collector Planes Really trying to figure out who has the BF110 for this mission I am working on. Only those who bought BOM would have it. If I get inspired might build a spreadsheet
  5. I have spent way more time than I should have this weekend on building the mission....needless to say not ready for prime time. So I got nothing set up for this week other than flying. Server Raid on Training Site or Server Raid with the Russians....up to you guys
  6. cool stuff....will need to give it a try this weekend! I read about one guy that somehow imported old Il2 FB missions into the mission builder and than modified. Here is what I have been working on. 6 train stations (destroyable, with searchlights and AAA, marks a big x when destroyed) 5 trains ( launch one at a time, launches next train when half way to station, messages when it arrives and leaves station, a big x when destroyed) waypoints and routes that appear when you "map" them my brain hasn't exploded yet, but close
  7. Duck...any chance you would have a training mission built for Jan 10th? There are others we can raid, but thinking I want to push off my Trainspotting mission until its more complete
  8. Chunk the way this one is going, not sure it will be ready by the tenth anyway. Might run it as a dry run, run the real deal another night. Now that I got this set up so nice realized I could run this like a train simulator with the train leaving Alpha station and subtitles let you know as it passes thru each station. Might even stop for two minutes to pick up passengers. Than if that train gets destroyed, send a train from Beta station. Would be very cool if you spotted the train in the distance and knew it was going to stop at the station for a few minutes before it takes off Subtitle could even tell you its direction "AF Train Departing" "CA Train Departing" "CA Train stopping at Alpha Station"
  9. Making some progress. This is what the map will look like when you get orders to map the train stations. We will assign a single wingman pair to each sector to follow the train tracks and map the stations As you fly over the stations you will get a message that the stations has been mapped and an icon will now show up marking the station. If you map two adjoining stations the waypoint lines get drawn underneath you (so cool!) In the second sortie the primary goal is to destroy the train stations, as you destroy them you get a message but also a big red X on the map Not trying to be too gimmicky, but feels like you are getting something done and you can track your progress. Whats left?? Adding live trains moving between the stations Adding AI to pester us while we are doing our work Expect low cloud cover to force us low to the ground for mapping, but allow high low action once we have a map we can follow.
  10. I am good for an hour....will see you there
  11. Phew finally got the moving parts to work not ready for this week, need to add AI. I think we will run this one with icons off. In testing the train lines are clear on the map even at night, easy to follow the line which will take you over the bases and map them. AAA and Searchlites also mark them. By 8am the sun is up and likely ready to start Sortie 2 and get to bombing and destroying.
  12. I've stalled so far, still on windows 7. What is the consensus out there? Switch or stay?
  13. Loaded Lightroom and worked through a few of the tutorials. Experimented with the basic copy stand shot of the Journal in a RAW format. The software is pretty amazing. I was a bit stunned that it could figure out what lense I used and provide a filter correction for distortion of the image. Things I fixed with it 1. Corrected Lense Distortion 2. Corrected White Balance 3. Made the colors more saturated (aka Band of Brothers) and adjusted exposure and contrast 4. Added dark vignette around the edges to focus you in on the journal Really made the whole image much less flat and more vibrant. Before After So far my only frustration with the software is still don't really understand where the "adjustments" to the orig picture lives. I saw no "save" button. I could export to create a J-peg image, but wondering where the actual adjustments live. Anyway, Chunk, thanks so much for the lead..has paid off big for the quality of the final product on "The Blue Max Project" thingy. Only bought it because you convinced me it would make a difference.
  14. My daughter got me this for Christmas. I returned the favor by almost taking her head off. mamMvxsVoF8
  15. tjR9sBpJGuc Looks like I will need more escorts to complete this mission on Tuesday
  16. Been a pleasure hanging out with all of you over the years. Hope you and your families have a fine Holiday. http://www.thebluemaxproject.org/new-blog/2016/12/19/making-dreams-come-true-and-a-new-years-wish
  17. oops should have checked my facts first!....I thought we had a password on the Meeting Room but the Server was now open? Did I get that wrong? It is a hassle to put it on or take it off? Could consider removing it on the day of the mission. Part of this is attracting new potential members and flying partners. Let me know what you think.
  18. Just posted this on the BOS Website Nothing better for the adrenaline than a public announcement for an open mission! (Reminds me of the WWHFA days) I think Duck and I have the whole "managed Coop" thing worked out. Keep your fingers crossed!
  19. And looks like I can replicate Vandy's Morse code sound effects too!
