WWSandMan
Plague's got us solidly entrenched in the 1943 Kuban/Caucasus area with his online Ngen series. Most of us have flown that many times over... it's great fun and great practice. I've been fighting with DCG and trying to use some of it's expanded map capabilities to run something similar. But, I've been stymied for... well, for a lot of reasons. I finally managed to get it running (using Plague's ngen.exe file!), then replaced successfully with DCG. After much tuning and tweaking (again, thanks to Plague, and Cephas also!), I've got it ready to run. You are the last of the Samurai, defending Japan from the American hordes. The year: 1944 The place: Kyushu Island, Japan Your mounts: The A6M5c (the venerable Zero); the Ki-84c and Ki-61_Otsu. The enemy: US Army Air Force bombers, fighter-bombers and escort fighters (and an occasional foray by RAAF Beaufighters). The setup: You'll be presented with mostly intercept missions, which suits the strengths of your aircraft pretty well. Flyable planes will be Japanese, all enemy will be AI of various skill level. Enemy planes will take a wide range... from B-29's and P-51D's to P-38's, P-47's, Beaufighters... and an occasional surprise visit from Naval aircraft of the UK and USA. Missions from this will be flown simply on an ad-hoc basis... whenever I'm available and some of crew is around and otherwise not engaged, (and interested in seeing the fight "from the other side"), I'll be hosting. /applications/core/interface/imageproxy/imageproxy.php?img=%7BSMILIES_PATH%7D/icon_biggrin.gif&key=64cd7b7a0036899205810ec0a5b90ed7121d5889dd92733089c47c9758b7f4ae">

WWSandMan
 Needless to say, a single lucky bomb drop can provide a lot of *boom*. ;)Look at that stat... 1.1% hit rate off of 500+/- bullets fired on an AI plane, and one bomb dropped. It was pure luck the Reds had so many trucks and stuff so close to an ammo train.I did do a little better on the next mission strafing trucks and such... until that single 75mm flak gun got that direct hit on me. /applications/core/interface/imageproxy/imageproxy.php?img=%7BSMILIES_PATH%7D/icon_evil.gif&key=36bc05a3863f15788b23d585f469a280df42babbcc58b8301d709f526041b146"> Then I went and played FAC and got you killed going after a "hardened" train (one of those static object trains placed on some maps as scenery, not worth wasting strafing runs on). Sorry! /applications/core/interface/imageproxy/imageproxy.php?img=%7BSMILIES_PATH%7D/icon_redface.gif&key=b30c314ea10c72f3d32953a265be0c32a1435b472bb99313e5e3656e23efc144">I had fun with the Kuban NGen, so I wasn't going to change the mix. There will be other nights.
