Holy crap.. is that a look at what the Israeli Air Force has done to the nimble F-16?? I bet that bomb truck is 300mph (or more) slower than a standard US F-16C Block 50. Actually, more like 700 or so, since I'm sure all that ordnance relegates the bird to sub-mach speeds.

Great images, though! Really got me looking more closely at all the changes/upgrades done to it.

Off topic, sort of... But did you know Gillman Louie (he of Spectrum Holobyte fame, and the one who pushed Falcon 4.0 on the unsuspecting masses) is part of some Washington think-tank? I heard him on NPR radio last week giving counter-point to ... what was it ... something space related. EDIT: It was a discussion on Artificial Intelligence, because he was appointed to the United States National Security Commission for Artificial Intelligence in 2018. (thanks Wikipedia!) The discussion briefly touched on his chairing the committee on "future disruptive technologies" ... Man! Talk about getting way ahead of the curve!

I got a kick out of hearing his name in real-life high-end thinking circles. Couldn't help but think about sending in a "listener question" asking if he ever thought a Falcon 5.0 would happen, lol...

Yeah, the Sufa is not what the Fighter Mafia had in mind with the lightweight fighter concept. The conformal fuel tanks are actually pretty good aerodynamically, but all those bombs would definitely slow her down. That being said, that aircraft is Israel’s deep strike specialist and she does a helluva job.

And that’s a great story about Mr. Louie. Funny how guys like that end up doing real world stuff after the fact. What’s odd is that Matt Wagner did it the other way around. He was a CIA analyst after he became paralyzed, then started working for ED after he made some contacts within Russia.

Believe that's a HARM missile, "(something) anti radiation missile". Designed to home on the source of active radar wave emissions.

I believe it's a passive system, emits nothing itself, and is not generally guided by any other means. But if an old Ruskie radar is searching the sky for B-52's, the energy beans it gives off are easy (sort of) to follow to their source.

The thing being fired in that third screenshot is a laser-guided Hydra rocket. I wish the A-10 had the capability to carry HARM’s, it’d make the job a lot easier.

HARM stands for High-Speed Anti-Radiation Missile. It has a seeker head that searches for radar emitters. It can be effective if the bad guys leave the radars for their SAM’s on. From what I’ve read, it’s way more effective in DCS than it is in real life.
