Annoying

I'm running Winxp pro. I've got a Soundblaster Live Value card with Quad Klipsch speakers and a subwoofer.

Every time I reboot I have to re-set my speaker setting in "Sounds and Audio devices" back to quadrophonic speakers. It resets back to "deskktop speakers" with every reboot and sound only comes out of the front two. Once I go in and change the settings all 4 speakers operate fine. What should I be doing to permanantly set the speaker settings?

It's annoying dang it.

Uhmm... the new Klipsh speakers only work correctly with digital audio and the only chips that provides digital audio for gaming are the nForce series, that provide relatively low resolution.

Just to be safe, I use Logitech Z-680s. They aren't German but they work.
I like stuff that works.

Sheeeze loweeeze, If I was dead I just rolled over after reading that sentence...

Which Klipsch Speakers only work correctly with digital audio?

What sound card does not have chips that can't handle digital audio..

What is low resolution?

What is relative in relatively low resolution? Are you comparing something
to a turntable or magnetic tape?

Klipsch Speakers are not German.

Paul Klipsch was the founder of the Klipsch speaker company.

He's been making world famous American speakers for many, many years.

What makes a Klipsch Speaker not work.

Have you ever auditioned Klipsch speakers?

How old are you? No harm meant, Klipsch speakers are a tad bright
to the young. Your Z-680's are on the bright side as well though.

Lastly,, Do I know you?
Just wondering?

My speakers work just fine when the O/S recognizes the Quad Speaker setup. Sound is awesome. The issue is with a log off in Win XP the setting reverts back to "desktop speakers" and of course only the front 2 work until I go back into sound settings and click the drop down again for Quad.
