WWGeezer
In one of the side chapels at York Minster they have this very cool memorial for all airman who died during WW2. The monument has a hand written journal with every name of every airman who died ( over 50,000). At the same location the have a “ five sisters” memorial for women who died during the war with the names written on panels behind little doors 1

WWCraven
The Brits take their war dead very seriously, what strikes me is the calligraphy in the book, such exquisite attention to detail. Thanks for sharing Geezer!
