Lots of articles on how and why the original paints turned from the OD to chocolate/reddish/brown. Quote which helped me decided on this dope scheme taken from a post in the Great War Forum; Quote the SE5 colours I found this in Mike O'Connor's Airfields and Airmen: Somme on page 54 where Cecil Lewis describes Ball setting out on his last patrol: 'The squadron sets out eleven strong on the evening patrol.
