Would love to get feed back from the group as to what works or what you'd like to see more of. 

My thoughts are trying to make missions that are more organized to keep the group somewhat on the same objective or area of the map instead of being spread out all over and wondering 'what should we be doing'. Subtitles can help but you don't want them constantly in your face. Delaying the airbases from opening if there's more than one helps. I don't want to get back into making missions from scratch so modifying the dynamic 'Vander' missions for me is the way to go., haven't looked at Pat's yet.

I'm trying and think I've figured a easy way to add more enemy aircraft to be added when needed but it involves a reserved plane to do this. Has something to do with a trigger working off a named plane.  You never know how big the turnout is going to be so you can modify the missions enemy numbers on the go.

Anyways if you guys have ideas fire away, it could be something that may really spice up a mission.

To me the opening and now closing of airfields seems to be the only way to keep pilots focused on objectives as they are completed. Even if they miss a message or don't read the briefing, or not look at the map icons. They'll probably be the right area or close if there's only 1 airfield to choose from at the moment. 🙂

More air targets is always a good spice for me...

Hey Fawlty,

When you get a lull in mission making and you have a bit of spare time...

I could really use a gunnery training mission!

...something like:

- me airspawn in the middle of the map at 5km altitude should be fine - all plane types available.

- half a dozen or so random enemy spawn locations 10000m away, in a 360 circle around my spawn point, spawning at 1000 - 8000m alt. 

...then just basically, on enemy kill, respawn new enemy from any 1 of x enemy spawn locations.

 

A perpetual duel of sorts. Something I can set unlimited ammo on, set the flight recorder on, and watch playbacks and learn what/where I tend to shoot at.....

 

Is this even doable?

 should be top off list when in hanger on start up.

I tried that... Ive never seen it respawn another aircraft. it just ends up being a 1v1,,, I'll try again tho'...

 

EDIT: Ah....set number of waves to unlimited. Got it! *forehead slap*🤪

Mission suggestions? I can do that...

Here's one to get a feeling for what it's like to be a Russian pilot in late summer of 1941... Il-2 (single seaters) mission against invading German armor, artillery, and truck convoys. I-16's (no canon armed varieties) and a very limited number of Yak-1's and even fewer MiG-3's, for cover and target defense. Axis flying Bf-110's with limited bomb ordnance (nothing over 250kg), Bf-109 E's escorting and "frei jagd", Ju-87's with limited bombs (nothing over 500kg). Armaments limited because the massive bombs we like to use were not often used in real life, especially early in the war.

Mid war scenario, eastern front, Crimea. Germans in retreat, Lots of artillery and rocket launchers on Russian side, Germans with full array of mid-late 43 aircraft, but very few of them. Russians with same time frame aircraft, but three times as many as the Germans.

If Vander or Pat Wilson's can do it, that works ... just edit for human flyables on each side, so we can fly together and do the missions together from each side.

Guess the one important detail I forgot to add was mission building for FC. As most of you know my interests lie with WW1, although with the large number of proficient mission builders we have in the squad I'm sure we can expect some more outstanding WW2 action as Sandy has suggested.

When we get the Normandy map I may take a shot at it, just hope I don't have to buy it. On that note can you build missions for a map you don't own, I'm sure they have a way of blocking it or everybody would be making missions.

For FC stuff, I wish for more planes so we can have battles more in line with what was actually seen. That being said, I like missions based on real events. Much like Sandy me ruined above, realistic numbers in regards to force strength on each side.

I guess if FC is based on 1918 the planes we have are not far off what was being used except for one huge omission, we don't have heavy bombers!!

By late spring of 1918 the DR1 was just about history, MVR was just about ready to move over to the Fokker D7 the plane of choice.  Albies were getting outclassed,the Pfalz D III was just about obsolete. Allies for the most part using Camels SE5a's,Spad 13's and Brisfits. So if you think of this sim as a spring to the end of the war we are pretty well supplied with the majority of what was being used. 

We do need heavy Bombers though.

factor that is important to remember, and seems this is even more prevalent in FC. is in a furball environment, the ai seem to have a hard time working on a firing  solution.  They are too busy paying attention to where the other planes are.  Thursday watch Brian tangle with about 7 enemy ai.  Not taking anything away from Brian, but he should have been dead in about 3 minutes.  Instead, it was just a bunch of planes flying around, every so often, one would get some shots off.  imho it's even worse in FC.
