WWGriphos
That's terrible. My sister in Fort Collins, CO is in similar shape. Here's a pic from her car yesterday at noon. None of that is cloud.
WWFawlty
That's some seriously bad air quality Geez We woke up to this, early this morning making its way up from Chunks neck of the woods. WWChunk
Yeah, it was punishing yesterday and last night. We were evacuating folks from homes at around 0400 this morning. A few houses burned down, but we caught it before it really got out of control.
WWBrian
Looking out this morning at 9 am and I thought I was on Mars! ( also thought it was closer to 5 am on how dark the house was)
WWGriphos
Yeah, that's just crazy! Feeling more and more like the apocalypse to me. Keeping an eye out for zombies in my neck of the woods! Edited September 10, 2020 by WWGriphos

WWSandMan
I'm in for tea and biscuits with gravy. Add in some crumbled hot sausage to that gravy and my tummy starts growling thinking of it.
WWDubya
That's what Portland has looked like the last few days. We are about one mile from the start of the "warning level" zones. Green level 1 is "you best start thinking about what you want to save and where you want to go when shit starts getting real-er." Yellow level 2 (about 3 miles away) is "pack your shit and plan your exit route; maybe get a head start and beat the traffic." Red Level 3 (about 5 miles out) is "This is the Police - shit is real-real, why the hell are you still at home?" Thankfully the winds have stopped and temperatures have dropped considerably (only 63 today - yesterday was 90) and the warning levels have remained stagnant the last 24 hours. We are expecting (hoping for) a coastal system that is supposed to provide at least some moisture (drizzle to a 1/4" of rain). WWChunk
It’s up here in Washington now as well. The winds shifted mid-week and smoke from the the fires in eastern Washington made its way here. It looks like Mars today. Thankfully the rain rolls in this coming week. Take care y’all. Pass some of them biscuits please!
WWSittingduck
You watch the news, the videos, and try and get a sense of what is going on there, but you know that is impossible. There is no way someone not there, not involved with what is really going on can understand what some people are going thru. I can only try and imagine. Last week I told the guys in TS listening to them made me realize how wonderful my life is. That fact is becoming more and more obvious. Be very thankful for what you have. WWSoarfeat
I agree Duck !! We do need to remember ,the impact of this to life is globally, ( sadly ).
WWSandMan
Yeah, sooooo.... Can ya'll out west keep that shit there, please? The smoke has made what's supposed to be a bright, sunny day ... less so. By far. The smoky skies make looking directly at the sun something that's still not advised, but absolutely doable. But, even with the smoky skies, I still got a good shot of Meghan and Rocky (sporting his latest haircut)
WWTomka
I was camping at Ypsilon Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park Sept 6th when the Cameron Peak fire got pretty close. I came down a day early and told the back-country office, they said they were about to come get me.
WWGriphos
I didn't take any pictures, but you couldn't see the horizon where I live today. You'd have thought there were fires somewhere nearby, but nope, just California smoke all the way over here in Central Texas. I'm still keeping a wary eye out for zombies.
WWChunk
We had some storms up here yesterday and the winds shifted dramatically. First day of blue skies in almost two weeks.
WWGeezer
Yes, much improved. The big tanker planes flying over head most of the day Friday heading to a fires further south, kept feeling blessed that Icy wasnt leading that flight.. ”Waaaa......Geezers down there?.....everyone drop NOW!”
WWICYtheDEAD
Now you know I would’ve dropped dead on any trees on fire! Though trees are one of my worst enemies next to cranes and ship masts !
