I cant get my ASUS wifi router to work any more,  wired or wifi. Electrical storm. I need a router that is easy, (like old people easy), set up.  It has to send wifi 20 feet at the most. I dont need all bells and whistles unit for $200+. Any suggestions based on personal experience? Ive just been to Amazon, and dont know what 1/2 the descriptions in the titles mean, and reading the 1 star rating on a few models and manufacters, I dont have a clue what to buy based on quality. Thanks.

Nevermind, I fixed it! The internet is a wonderful troubleshooting tool, I would even pay money to see the internet. Oh, wait, I do 🙄

I did get to have some worthless conversations with foreign nationals who are Spectrum employees, and one human? who was the nearest thing to listening to AI speak Ive encoutered so far this decade. I was polite when I insulted him, after all, you never know who among us are buddies with the budding AI overlords, and I dont want no zap from space, in my future. Well, maybe its what I need, but thats another story.

As long as you've got it working and it gives the speeds you need, you're golden.

If push comes to shove and you need a router, I've got a couple not currently in use. One is a bit older (I used it in my apartment, so it's about five years old; I think it's a Linksys brand, but I'm not sure which model) and the other is an ungainly looking thing but very good performer: a TP-Link Archer AX11000 that utilizes wifi6 protocols for zippy fast wireless connections. They're both in a closet gathering dust.
