  1. I remember reading this a while back, is this still in effect?
  2. Found and tried this for my phone (not LookPilot yet) if you want to forgo buying a webcam. It's available for apple phones as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJctcZRFxSY Update; Lookpilot in conjunction with the phone works great, bought the software
  3. I'll be looking forward to hearing how you make out Cephas. The 2 antique cameras I have won't do it justice so will wait on the multiple purchases.
  4. Nice find Cephas, Track ir is one of the reasons I stepped away from flightsims. There's nothing more frustrating than getting into a good dogfight and having your view freeze up and like you VR is not a option. Think I'll give this a shot.
  5. Nope, it's not your computer Plague. Check it out on steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/3603740/GCR4_Geoff_Crammond/
  6. Kind of late but 'One more time with feeling'
  7. Nice work Cephas. I did something like this to start a mission once we formed up on ai bombers but what your doing is far advanced.
  8. Nice work Biker, That's going to be fun flying that beauty
  9. I like it Biker. Are you getting some ideas from these guys. https://www.flitetest.com/ I started building from one of their foam board plans, got about half way through but figured with all the restriction around here I couldn't fly it anyways. I'm living in the land of 'do this', 'don't do that' or else it's going to cost you.
  10. Sounds like you have partitions causing confusion. When you clone a drive with something like Acronis which is what I use, the cloned drive does not have a drive letter so it's invisible when you open file explorer. As you probably know it's easy to assign a drive letter via disk management. When you install windows there are also partitions that are not visible, MS does that I'm sure so people don't get confused with all those little drives and they are for backup after all. I've never dealt with cloud storage, just a soon have my own cloned drives for back up, been doing that for years. Can't help you with that.
  11. Hey Sensei, thanks for the offer Think I'm going to stick with windows considering the huge task of starting over with a new operating system. Sounds like Cephas got CM working just fine on 11 so that's reassuring. Got to say though I do like messing around with Linux. Resurrecting that old Chromebook was rewarding. Here's a couple of links in case anyone else is interested. https://docs.chrultrabook.com/ https://docs.mrchromebox.tech/
  12. Thanks for the heads up on that Cephas. I'll probably clone my main drive and give win 11 a try in the near future. I recently fell down the Linux rabbit hole and really like trying the different distro's, even converted a old Acer Chromebook not supported for the last few years over to Linux. I doubt Linux would support CM though, may give it a try. Would love to break from MS windows.
  13. Hey Gangster, I'm on win10 still have been using CM all along. I remember having to delete MS store for some reason to get it to work. From what I've been reading moving on to Win 11 is going to be the end. Bob Church the dev who wrote CM helped me with some scripts so I could use Pro throttle in arma3 and I'd be lost without it. Cephas is another who use CM and he's pretty handy with script writing. I may have to fork over $30 to MS to keep win10 for another year, couldn't be bothered starting over again with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6CFPW4go0M
  14. Just a suggestion and excuse me if it's been tried Biker but have you tried getting someone else to host the missions that are causing issues. You will know if it's Telus or the sim at least.
  15. Good info Cephas. You know since I started using LossLess Scaling purchased on Steam for less than $10 strictly for frame generation I couldn't be happier. (I may not be to fussy) Although my monitor will do a refresh of 165 I set Arma at 100 which it maintains most of the time. In the past I'd never get close to those numbers and game play has been great. I'll stick with my asus 12g 3080 but the info you provided has been informative.
  16. New there was a reason why I was holding off upgrading my 3080
  17. Looks good Biker, I'd love to get into this again but over on the island there are so many restrictions about flying RC there's almost nowhere to fly any more. I think since drones caught on everything went down hill for flying the 6 planes (mostly WW1) I have. BTW; you got to get a sharpie on that, what looks like a GWS orange prop.
  18. Great fun and enjoyed the well built mission. I was feeling a bit like a 5th wheel but that will change over time. Big thanks to Cephas and Biker, I know how time consuming mission building can be, you guys have done a great job with this sim.
  19. From what I've read no Geezer. I only use it for frame gen not scaling. To use it you fire up the game/sim in windowed mode then hotkey the app (ctrl/alt/s) you then have full screen, doubling what you set your capped frame rate at (usually half your monitors refresh rate) My monitor is 165 so I set it at 82 to avoid tearing. Depending on the game my frame rate counter reads 164fps.
  20. For those looking for extra framerate in games. Plague and I have been using Lossless Scaling for frame generation in Arma 3 and we are both impressed with the results. https://store.steampowered.com/app/993090/Lossless_Scaling/ If you don't have a state of the art system or even don't like hearing the gpu fans spooling up this is a recommended piece of software. It can be used with any simulator or game and is really easy to set up. I went from averaging in the 50fps to a steady 100 in A3 while hosting. I could go higher, but 100 works for me. Arma 3 is a pretty old piece of software that will never get dlss frame generation but this does exactly what I need. I'm sure it will work perfect with IL2 Hope it can be of use to someone
  21. Got it fixed, good. I post a msg on our steam chat but you have it under control I see.
  22. Strange, a couple of days ago I watched a YouTube doc on the Apollo 8 mission and here Bill Anders died almost within view of my house. Geezer we flew right over this area when you came up to visit a few years ago, close to Orca's island. https://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/389197 (Video of the crash) https://youtu.be/W3RrsrcRIUg?t=4
  23. To add to Geezers post if your interested in a free version of Fallout 76 (The newest of the fallout series) it's available on Prime Gaming. https://gaming.amazon.com/home Really enjoying the TV series.
  24. Looking good Chunk
  25. Ya I'm running the Steam version in beta, that's what I was using Grif when we flew with Bomrr. It's been a while since firing up any flight sim but DCS (WW2 and Helis) have got me interested again. There's been a lot of updates and they look pretty good.
