May be hope for using Control Manager..........

Guys  -   Since I have the old CH  HOTAS I've been frustrated that the Control Manager quit working years ago for me.   On a recent browsing of old solutions for  it, I noticed someone said it difficult to completely remove the files so it dawned on me that I used to use Revo uninstaller to remove software more completely.    That said - I have Control Manager functioning on my PC again.   I was even able to copy all of my old maps that were still on the old drives.   I was worried that they were gone but they weren't.   Used file explorer to copy to the maps location on the C drive where the new install is!

Hey Gangster, I'm on win10 still have been using CM all along. I remember having to delete MS store for some reason to get it to work.

From what I've been reading moving on to Win 11 is going to be the end.

Bob Church the dev who wrote CM helped me with some scripts so I could use Pro throttle in arma3 and I'd be lost without it.

Cephas is another who use CM and he's pretty handy with script writing.

I may have to fork over $30 to MS to keep win10 for another year, couldn't be bothered starting over again with

I had the same Windows store conflict with Windows 10.  Since the update to Windows 11 I have had zero issues with CH manager.  I occasionally have USB issues on my remote computer when I am in Idaho causing it to switch out of blended controller mode, but I think that is more to do with USB hardware than control manager.

I use a Pro Throttle, pedals, and Fighterstick blended in CH manager to appear as a single controller in IL2.  I also have a Logitech throttle quadrant on the side for engine management that the game sees as a separate controller and has caused no problems.

Thanks for the heads up on that Cephas.

I'll probably clone my main drive and give win 11 a try in the near future.

I recently fell down the Linux rabbit hole and really like trying the different distro's, even converted a old Acer Chromebook not supported for the last few years over to Linux.

I doubt Linux would support CM though, may give it a try. Would love to break from MS windows.

Hey Fawlty, I'm on linux and not sure about Control Manager but either Wine or Bottles may have the solution. Also possible someone has bulit the drivers right in. CH Manager has been around long enough someone has bound to have some kind of solution. My CH stuff runs fine under DCS and MSFS under Linux with the app mapping. Give me a shout if you want help researching.

Hey Sensei, thanks for the offer

Think I'm going to stick with windows considering the huge task of starting over with a new operating system.

Sounds like Cephas got CM working just fine on 11 so that's reassuring.

Got to say though I do like messing around with Linux. Resurrecting that old Chromebook was rewarding.

Here's a couple of links in case anyone else is interested.
