WWCephas
Are they going to want to stick with Aces 2.04? (and lose out on the new 10K ship vis distance)Or are they going to require ACES + PF install? This needs to be figured out soon.
WWTharn
Agreed- With the history of the online community upgrading requirements for online wars with the latest patch or update: If the program is available -I don't see any reason that they stick with the aces engine. I think they'll opt for PF upgrade.
WWSandMan
I imagine it will come to a vote of those squads who intend to particpate. Considering CoT II is still in developement, and that most squads will want to use the new goodies that PF brings to the table, the only hanging point is how long before all particpating squads could have their members running PF. Just about all squads will want some time to practice (every new version/add-on brings changes -both good and bad- as well as new bugs that have to be found and worked around). If PF is included in CoT II, does this mean there will be a corresponding wait while all the new gadgets are integrated into the CoT II (read: DCG) admin? Do we -all the particpating squads- want to wait another month (or more), or just get CoT II rolling ASAP, even if it uses FB 2.04?
WWPlague
Kinda vague, but a little tease from JG1 forum, notice no mention of fuel supply depots. Sounds like axis attack and allied defend?View previous topic :: View next topic Author Message WWReaperJoined: 04 Jun 2004Posts: 42Location: Michigan, USA Posted: Fri Oct 22, 2004 11:43 am Post subject: Any updates? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------S! Is CoT2 gonna be on the Normandy map? Is it ok for you to share what kind of targets each side will have? Ships? Fuel depots? Sherman tanks? Thanks._________________Sergeant WWPlague destroyed a tank for his 37th ground target. It's modeled after the time frame of the Dieppe raid, August 1942. The LW will have primarily Fw190A-4s with some 109G-2s and He-111H-2 and H-6 bombers based out of Carpiquet airfield just west of Caen.. The Allies will have Spit Vb, Vb LF, and Vb CW. A few Hurri IIb/c and P-47D-10s as Typhoon stand-ins. Maybe some bombers once PF comes out. They are based out of the island in the channel. The idea is this: the Allies have landed about 30 tanks on the beach near Arromanches les Bain on the Normandy map, that's grid coords F9-3. They have to hold the town of Arromanches until the end of the war game. The game will consist of 8 one-hour sessions. The Germans have a small force of 8 tanks spread down the highway towards Caen. There are six ships, 2 destoyers and 4 transorts keeping the Allies supplied and providing reinforcements. The ships travel from the island to the beaches in pretty much a straight line. The German objective is to re-capture Arromanches and drive the Allies back into the sea prior to the 8th hour .
